Here's a shot of a group of engineers on the Empress of Canada probably taken in late 61 or sometime in 62. Left to right yours truly Geoff Pearson 5th engineer , Jack Henderson 4th engineer , Lenny ? 3rd engineer, Jack "Flash" 2nd engineer, next guy I can't remember his name he was on our watch as an electrician, and finally Bob ? 6th engineer, all I can remember of Bob is that he was from Scotland and was always sea sick!

Life boat drill on the Empress of Canada. Picture was taken by one of the ships photographers on a cruise

from New York to the Caribbean . That’s sister Ann Dawson  ( my wife ) on the left with one of the convenience

store girls. Sorry we don’t remember her name. Passengers don’t look too happy do they ?

Editor: Convenience Store Girls is a new one on me! It is actually Margaret Meadow, steno.

I understand there was a small celebration in Trafalgar Square recently of England's world cup win....

From Caroline Smith December 2003

This was the view at 9.25 a.m. looking towards our building, it did get a wee bit busier later on in the day!)  It was quite a superb sight.  (If you zoom in on the building you can see our banner).

Photo sent by Randolph Magri-Overend in Australia

He writes: Terry Foskett and I got together in Sydney in February this year after 40 years.

Terry was Chief Purser on Queen Elizabeth 2 and he "croons"! to the passengers at soirees

Ed. The mind boggles at "007" crooning

Can anyone identify where this picture was taken?

In response to your query about where the picture was taken my mum
thinks that it was taken from the Cloch Lighthouse on the River Clyde (near
Gourock).  The view is towards Kilmun and Loch Long.  Do you know who
took the picture?  My mum (Ann Headrick) thought that my father, the
late Captain Robert Gow Headrick formerly of CP ships had taken a similar
picture a number of years ago.
Thank you for continuing with this website as my mum likes to keep up
to date with what is happening with the past crew of CP Ships.
